Feasibility of Digital Twins to Manage the Operational Risks in the Production of a Ready-Mix Concrete Plant

The ready-mix concrete supply chain is highly disruptive due to its product perishability and Just-in-Time (JIT) production style. A lack of technology makes the (RMC) industry suffer from frequent failures, ultimately causing high customer dissatisfaction loss revenues. In this paper, we propose first-ever digital twin (DT) system in RMC that can serve as a decision support tool manage risk efficiently effectively via predictive maintenance. This study focuses on feasibility twins for three main areas holistically: (1) technical plant management; (2) business value proposed construction industry; (3) challenges implementation real-world industry. consists phases: an IoT get real-time cycle times; operational working model with descriptive analytics; advanced analytical dashboard analytics make maintenance decisions. Our solution provide efficient interpretable insights real time based anomaly detection, bottleneck identification, process disruption forecast analysis. Finally, emphasizes state-of-the-art solutions such risks plants by automatically detecting predicting bottlenecks without waiting until failure happens react.
